The Morehead Utility Plant Board has been awarded The Kentucky Gas Association’s “Accident Prevention Award” for 2012. This award is given to Member Companies that have maintained “OSHA Criteria” of zero injuries/incidences. During the 10,380 man-hours attributed to the gas system in 2012, Morehead Utility Plant Board’s maintenance employees were able to report zero accidents. Only 4 other Kentucky Gas Association members in the Group 2 (1-149 employees) received this award. This is the twelfth time that the Morehead Utility Plant Board has received this award from the Kentucky Gas Association, having won it in 1990, 1995 and 2004-2013 (10 straight years). “Our maintenance employees are continuously working to ensure the safety of our customers, themselves and fellow employees. Through extensive training, hands-on experience, and proper personal protective equipment we are proud to report zero incidences, accidents or injuries.
